Description
Learn how to hand spin your own yarns using a drop spindle. We will go over wool washing, and fibre preparation, how to spin singles, and how to ply your yarn on your spindle, and how to finish and set your yarn to take home with you. You will be given a beginners spindle which is yours to take home with you, along with a bag of wool to continue your spinning practice at home. The spindle that comes with this lesson is a natural plain wood spindle, and the wool is natural un-dyed wool. If you would like to upgrade your package to one of the spindles I embellish instead of the plain one, and coloured/fancy wools, I have some packs in the studio shop to choose from on the day. The fancy coloured wool packs and embellished spindles upgrade are shown in the photos on this listing. The workshop may have others attending, or might be just yourself. If you would prefer a one to one session, please message me via the ‘message the tutor’ button. If you are travelling to get here, there is a farm cottage and a cabin on site that may be available for you to book.
