This listing is for ONE natural rustic hedgerow bobbin with 4 meters of handspun linen thread.
I have handspun this linen thread from natural unbleached and undyed flax plant fiber, a very slow made product.
the thread is spun by hand and then plyed, two ply, so the thread is strong as well as being finely spun. I use it for hand sewing and quilting.
Being a historic heritage craft, this handspun linen is great for reenactment and historic projects.
Because they are hand crafted and very slow made in tiny batches from natural fibers and natural Welsh hedgerow branches, each bobbin is unique and one of a kind in shape and size (the amount of spun thread on each bobbin is the same – 4 meters).
To keep the thread from unwinding from the bobbin, I have tied a small piece of plant dyed recycled silk around the thread to hold it in place for posting, each bobbin comes in a little cotton drawstring bag.
If you haven’t worked with natural linen before, it feels stiffer when it is first used, and it softens up lovely when it has been washed, and worn.
They can be worked with in your fiber art projects or make a beautiful little gift.
