‘The Each Uisge’ A big magical storytelling blanket wrap shawl, hand woven and slowmade with Love, one of a kind heirloom piece, one of a collection of weavings which tell stories from ancient folklore.

Each Uisge are water horses from ancient Scottish folklore. Similar to the river and stream dwelling Kelpies, the Each Uisge live in the sea.
This blanket shawl has the horse’s mane woven into each end of the fringing, along with the seaweeds and seashells tangled in amongst it’s mane. At one end of the shawl is the spiraling white horses at the shore next to it’s mane, as the Each Uisge rises up from the depths.
This piece, woven in Wales, inspired by my Scottish culture, my Scottish Father, has travelled with me and Elfin to Ireland, exhibited in the art exhibition at Feile na Bealtaine in Dingle County Kerry.
I have handwoven this shawl wrap with my own handspun art yarns and hand dyed yarns, and plant dyed yarns, from hand carded natural beautiful fibers and local wools, I have also woven through the shawl some recycled yarns. It has beautiful long hand dyed Masham locks along one edge.
A magical handspun, handwoven, piece of clothing. It also makes a beautiful throw over a chair or sofa, or thrown over a bed, or the weaving would also look lovely thrown over a branch as a wall hanging when not being worn.
The price reflects the process of weeks of hand carding, hand dyeing, handspinning, warping, and handweaving, hand stitching, embroidery, and tasselwork, and all the beautiful hand dyed fibers spun through it to create this one of a kind piece.
This weaving measures approximately 218 cms x 58 cms (including the tassel work at the ends)
Washing instructions – Handwash separately very gently in cool water, with a natural eco friendly washing liquid (without the harsh chemicals and foaming agents) Bio D is a lovely brand. Gently rinse thoroughly in same temperature water, and re-shape laying flat to dry naturally.
